Only a 20 minute drive from downtown Atlanta, East Palisades Trail is a hike like no other. Following the Chattahoochee River, the trail leads to a breathtaking bamboo forest. After Towns County acquired Bell Mountain in 2009, they developed a gravel road leading to the mountain top, and they created a viewing platform. Several locals feared these developments made the mountain more accessible and increased the chance of destruction. Eventually the mountain top became covered in graffiti and was a highly trafficked spot for tourists. Tallulah Gorge State Park is one of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S. Only 2 miles long, but nearly 1,000 feet deep, visitors can hike rim trails or obtain a permit to hike to the gorge floor.	Located in Rising Fawn, GA, Cloudland Canyon State Park is one of the most scenic parks in the state. The Waterfall Trail leads hikers to spectacular views of Cherokee Falls, over 60 feet tall, and Hemlock Falls, over 90 feet tall.
