Sunset Rock provides spectacular views of the sunset and Sunrise Rock is only a 15 minute walk away. | A challenging 8 mile hike on the Bartram Trail to Rabun Bald, the second tallest mountain summit in Georgia, offers a stunning overlook. An observation platform provides a 360-degree panorama view of the surrounding North Carolina and Georgia mountains. | Stone Mountain Park is one of Georgia's most visited attractions. Several locals enjoy hiking the mountain for exercise and to admire a beautiful view of downtown Atlanta from the top. |

After Towns County acquired Bell Mountain in 2009, they developed a gravel road leading to the mountain top, and they created a viewing platform. Several locals feared these developments made the mountain more accessible and increased the chance of destruction.
